DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA
Arrival in the capital city of Lima, reception at the airport by a representative of the company, who will welcome you and make the transfer corresponding to the selected accommodation. Overnight in Lima.
DAY 2: LIMA / CITY TOUR (B)
After breakfast, visit of the city of Lima, where we take a guided tour of the most important and characteristic places of the city, with their typical characteristics of the colonial era, such as the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, the Archbishops Palace, the Municipality of Lima, the Station of Desamparados, and old streets and the classic mansions of the Viceregal period and Moorish-style balconies; Then we do a panoramic tour of the Church of San Francisco.
Leaving old Lima, we enter San Isidro and Miraflores, up to the Love Park, making a contrast between old and modern Lima. Overnight in Lima.
DAY 3: CUSCO – CITY TOUR (B)
Breakfast, then we will start our tour of the Historic Center of the Inca Empire. We will visit the traditional neighborhood of San Blas, and the stone of the 12 angles, this is a stone embedded in an Inca mural that was carved in such a way that it has 12 angles, which fit it perfectly with the adjoining stones. Its surprising perfection makes it a symbol of Inca technology applied to architecture. We will take a walk through some narrow and cobbled streets and its large white houses that house numerous workshops and shops of renowned popular artists.
Visit the city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The tour will start at the temple of Koricancha, an ancient Inca palace where the order of the Dominicans built an incredible church that can still be seen there. Then visit the Main Square, where the Cathedral, whose first stone was placed in work in the year 1560. This marvel of religious art has approximately 300 paintings from the Cusqueña School, among many other expressions of art. Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 4: CUSCO / RAINBOW MOUNTAIN (B, L)
After breakfast, we will go out to begin our 3:30 hour trip, we will make an intermission in the town of Cheqacupe to visit one of the last Inca bridge and continue traveling towards the slopes of the snowy Ausangate. In the way we will see the vast agricultural farm where potatoes are grown, and also where llamas and alpacas run free through the field. When we arrive at our destination, let's prepare ourselves, for our Explorer day, a walk of approximately 1:00 hours. During the journey we will have the opportunity of several colored mountains formed by minerals, and we will be able to see the different varieties of South American camelids, and unique landscapes in the world of these mountains. In our retorning way we´re gonna stop to have lunch (included) then continue trip to Cusco City. Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 5: CUSCO / EXCURSIÓN A MACHU PICCHU (B, L)
We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, after breakfast (3400 masl) and take them to the train station, located in the village "San Pedro", then board the train and start the trip from Cusco, lasts 4 hours to the village Of "Aguas Calientes" (2000 m). Our guide, will be waiting for us, with him we go to the bus station, to ascend 400 m of height, by a zigzag road, for 20 minutes until arriving, to the incredible world wonder "The Sanctuary of Machupicchu", known as " The Lost City of the Incas ". Arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will begin our guided tour, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal quarters, the Temple of Three Windows and the cemeteries, approximately for more than two hours . In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Cusco, arriving at the Ollantaytambo / Cusco train station, we will be waiting to take you to the selected hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
DAY 6: CUSCO / PUNO – ROUTE WITH TURISTIC STOPS (B, A)
Breakfast very early, transfer to the tourist bus terminal with service on board to take the picturesque route to Puno, there are 04 tourist stops, making an additional stop for lunch.
The route is as follows:
ANDAHUAYLILLAS: In this area you will visit the famous church San Pedro de Andahuaylillas which is the biggest attraction for visitors, due to the quality of its works of art is considered as the "Sistine Chapel" of America. It was built by the Jesuits in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Its architectural structure is the classic of small town churches. Its walls are wide, typical of colonial buildings, made with sun-dried mud bricks, a facade adorned with murals and two stone columns projected towards the main gate. Although its architecture is relatively modest, the decoration of its interiors is the most impressive of the enclosure.
Archaeological Complex of RAQCHI: 117 km from the city of Cusco. Raqchi (3485 masl) is a small town of farmers and potters in which a group of families has adapted their homes to receive the tourists in a new experiential tourism program. It dates from the XV century and is considered by the chroniclers as one of the most daring Inca constructions. It emphasizes the Temple of Wiracocha, with 100 ms of length and 20 ms of width.
LA RAYA: Middle point on the route Cusco - Puno is the highest part of the whole route, is located at a height of 4335 m.s.n.m. In this place we will be able to appreciate beautiful snow-capped mountains, beautiful inter-Andean landscapes, the birth of the Amazon River, llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. This point also represents the geographic union between two cultures Aymará and the Quechua culture, as well as the arid and dry altiplano in union with the Quechua zone of rivers and ravines.
PUKARA - PUNO: It constitutes the most important and ancient ceremonial center of the Altiplano previous to Tiahuanaco, characterized by a series of stepped platforms that resemble a pyramid called kalasasaya, culminated in a flat ceremonial center. It is also possible to appreciate impressive lito - sculptures stelae or lapidas of integral characters that seem to show evidence of a brave civilization. It is here that you discover the origins of an Andean culture in the highlands.
Arrival in Puno, reception in the terminal and transfer to the lodging. Overnight in Puno
DAY 7: PUNO / UROS AND TAQUILE ISLAND (B, L)
After breakfast, you will take a two-hour excursion across the Titicaca Lake until the unique floating island of Uros. The ancient habitants of this lake, known as the Water Tribe have built their own island by adding periodically new layers of “Totora” a type of a marram-grass very typical from this place, their houses and boats are made of this material too. After you can experience some of the ancient traditions of the local people, you will continue your boat trip to Taquile Island. You will arrive by the after side of the island to start a hike where you will appreciate the wonderful natural sightseeing, then ascend through a regular pendant slope to arrive to the town, there you will visit the handicraft center where you can buy a great variety of hand made tissues with very colorful and delicate designs. At proper time you will be transferred to Puno. At your arrival transfers to your hotel. Overnight in Puno.
DAY 8: PUNO / JULIACA / LIMA – DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast, and transfer to the city of Juliaca to take the flight to Lima and connect with your international flight.
